Even though this was a picture taken at Christmas, you can feel how peaceful and wonderful it is...especially right on the water! Every year, my dad, my uncles, all our families come to Pickwick to see Grandfather and Elaine and spend some fun, quality time together. We all used to come here much more often when we were younger but now that the cousins have jobs and adult lives to deal with, we find it harder and harder to get everyone at the lake together without some planning so the Pierce Family Weekend has helped us to take a time out from the world and enjoy family and the lake. This year, I was very excited to introduce Nathan to the family and the lovely craziness that is The Pierce's! Nathan loved every minute of it too!
(Nathan and Elaine looking at an embarrassing picture of me when I was younger, I am sure :)
Let me tell you a little about my family. First of all, we are the party. Yes, you read that right, the Pierce's are the party! We get loud and we sing and we dance (some of us better than others) and we talk over each other in 15 different conversations at once and, on the whole, we are a big ball of fun!
Fun with Family Photos!
Taylor finally smiled big for a picture!!! YAY!!!
Pierce Women- Lynette(soon-to-be Pierce!), Jenny, and me
Ben and Jeff were good sports when they were ambushed by a surprise karaoke sign-up on their behalf...wonder who did that, Jenny?? ;)
Pierce Brothers- Uncle Mark, my dad Terry, and Uncle Kenny
Daddy's Gold Medal Picture
I also have to say that I am proud of Nathan for being brave and heading into this family weekend with nearly 20 people that he either had never met or only met once or twice. It's daunting to meet the girlfriends family, especially mine! Haha! The family loves him and he loves the family so everything turned out perfectly!
Now, every year, Grandpa gets everyone something for the reunion weekend. Last year, it was Pickwick hats and t-shirts so that we could represent our favorite spot with pride! This year, however, we were all given t-shirts that read "I'm a Pierce".
(except you Jeff! You're a Pierce Corkran!)
We all wore them for karaoke and,so that Nathan had a shirt too, we made him a question mark shirt! Thanks to Ben for the artwork since my question mark sucked!
(picture to come soon)
Last, but definately not least, we remade the grandchildren and grandfather picture that we took on the swing at the waters edge over 10 years ago. I don't have the original photo on here but here is the new one!
