From Relaxation to Hectic Schedule!

I know I haven't posted recently, but after my wonderful mini-vacation to Pickwick, I was swamped with work!  You may be wondering what work since I said I was taking the summer off, but I will get to that.

On the weekend after July 4th, I went to Pickwick with my family, my brother's girlfriend, and my boyfriend.  After 23 years of going to Pickwick, I thought I had learned all there was to know about Pickwick and great places and interesting things to do there.  Boy, was I wrong! Apparently, years ago, when the waterways were being carved out in Pickwick Lake for bigger barges to go through Yellow Creek, an island was formed and goats ended up trapped on this little island.  Now, I don't believe I have ever heard of a wild goat in my life, but there are some on Goat Island!

Grandpa loaded up a bucket of goat feed and we took the boat to Goat Island.  Apparently, lots of people go to Goat Island to feed the goats, because when we pulled up on the beach, the goats came running!

They would all walk right up and eat right out of our hands!  There were five of them. Four were adults and there was one that was a baby!

Everyone loved feeding the goats! They were very sweet around us!  Taylor decided to name the oldest one Gandolf.

After we fed the goats, we decided to head down to a party cove and drop anchor so we could cool off from the heat.
We are a beer drinking family :)
I had to include this pic...they are such a cute couple!

Later that night, we got on the boat to view the annual Grand Harbor Fireworks show!
Some of us were excited and ready to celebrate...

...while others had gotten worn out on the water. :)

But everyone enjoyed the beautiful fireworks celebrating our Independence!

Also, I am happy to say that Nathan loved his first trip to Pickwick with the Pierce's and will be coming back with me for our Annual Pierce Family Weekend in August!

Speaking of Nathan, I am very proud of him for his hard work on his design for one of his dream shows...
(and for my work as Assisstant Lighting Designer (: )
For years, he has been talking about wanting the opportunity to design this show, and after a full week of looong nights and a couple of trips to memphis for lighting supplies, I have to say he has done a great job and hopefully I will be able to post some photos of the show soon.  If you are in the Memphis or North Mississippi area, you should come out to see CATS Panola Playhouse in Sardis, MS and support a great community theatre that, I am thrilled to say, is celebrating its 50th year this year!!  That makes Panola Playhouse one of the oldest, continually running community theatres in Mississippi.  If you would like to order tickets or check out their website, click here and it will take you right to it!
Also, you can check out pictures of past shows like the one below...
(the guy in the hawaiian shirt is Nathan at 18 or 19 when he played the lead in Faith County in 2007...YES, HE ACTS!  :)

So, please, if you want a dash of culture and a great time, go see Cats at Panola Playhouse! The show runs from July 20-August 3!

Speaking of theatre, Nathan and I decided to take in another show this weekend that was playing at Kudzu Playhouse!
Now, I am all for a great drama that brings you to tears or makes you question societal norms, but for this Sunday, I really loved this feel good, happy fairy tale! Nathan thought everyone seemed too happy, but this comes from a man who wouldn't know a fairy tale if it bit him in the butt, and is of the very strong opinion that the movie Bambi gives hunters a bad wrap.  Anyway, I loved my fairy tale today! If anyone is in the North Mississippi or Memphis area, check out Kudzu Playhouse as well! They are based out of Hernando and offer a variety of shows that are great! If you would like to see what is coming up, or order tickets, click here

As you can see, I have had a busy time lately and for now I am going to rest and enjoy my brand new car my dad and mom decided to buy me!!
I love my brand new 2012 Ford Focus :) Will be spending Monday syncing the phone to the car and getting XM Radio set up :)) This is why I call my new car Bond.

Happy 21st Birthday Taylor! (sorry it's a bit late) and more!

So, my not-so-little brother turned 21 about a week ago.  I officially feel old. Other than the feeling old part, we had a great time! Taylor's first legal drink was a long island iced tea and the family got to meet his beautiful girlfriend, Kensley!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAY!!!

In other news, I have been taking the chance to relax this summer because this is probably the last summer that I have off! (How lucky was I that it worked out like that?!)
Anyway, some things I have been doing are...

Eating out at the Rendevous with family...

Playing with Bear..

until he is falling down asleep :)

Playing games with my sweetie :)
(btw, I was sooo excited when I found Mancala in his closet! Talk about taking me back to middle school!)

And enjoying the city I have lived in all my life before I leave it! :(

Pretty soon, I will have to pack these bags and go away to a whole new place!
(But my daddy made sure I had nice bags to pack in! Thanks Dad and Mom!)

But for now I am enjoying life...
and will be headed to Pickwick, TN! My favorite place on Earth!

(I will post pics I promise)
